Ever wanted your own personal chef?
(Why? Well, here’s my hard sell, and you’ll only get that once from me. The only thing I dislike more than
a salesman is a pitch. In our intial meeting, I’m just there to answer questions and provide materials…)
Today, it becomes increasingly more difficult to prepare our own meals. The way we want ‘em, anyway…Work
schedules, traffic, other responsibilities, or simple exhaustion make it impossible to cook in the evenings like folks used
to.
Maybe you’ve decided that a different diet of foods is necessary for you. Perhaps dietary requirements make it necessary
for you to explore other options. You have to go low cholesterol, or no cholesterol. Maybe your doctor has prescribed a food
regimen for you, and you just don't have the time or energy to get as creative with it as you'd like. Maybe you're looking
to lose some weight with Atkin's or South Beach. Or, you’re thinking you'd like to safely explore vegetarianism out
of health reasons, moral convictions, or plain and simple curiosity (my favorite).
And how will you ever be able to devote the time to learn an entirely different way of cooking?
Specialty Groceries, like your Whole Foods, your Wild Oats, your Central Markets have brought a wealth of new, healthy,
gourmet dining options into reach for everyone—in our homes. Still, we have more health problems and consume more unhealthy,
fast food than ever before. Seems crazy. But, it’s simple, really. I think you’ll agree with me that the wild
card here is TIME…
I don’t know how to practice law. You’d go to jail trusting that to me. If you needed surgery, and I was your
only option, well…
But, what I DO know is Business and Cheffing. And I think this relationship could benefit both of us.
After all, a Toucan couldn’t survive in the desert. Good thing he doesn’t have to…
So what is a personal chef, anyway? Sounds extravagant…
It’s not really. And, it’s surprisingly affordable. You don’t have to pay some far out French guy’s
way through life to cook all of your meals for you. There’s a happy and reasonable medium that is coming into popularity.
The personal chef industry is out there. Like any other that satisfies a need. There’s a demand, and there’s
a supply of very capable professionals that do a great job at it.
So, why go with Firemelon? Well, I encourage you to do your homework, of course. But, let’s talk about your chef
first.
Chef Frank Miller has been in the culinary industry for nearly twenty years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree. He has
been Head Chef of Whole Foods Market in Austin. Originally with the legendary Bluebonnet Café of Whole Foods Greenville Avenue
in Dallas. With Wild Oats of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Among others…
He owned and operated (as Executive Chef) Mile High Grill of Austin.
In short, the boy can cook. And loves doing just that. In fact, he’d rather be cooking for you, person to person,
than anything else. Restaurants, in any capacity, are not a personal business. Sure you have the experience, the entertainment…but
how many times have you hung with the chef?
The personal chef experience brings it all together.
How it works...
It’s a three part process.
- You size up your needs. Check this website. Comparison shop. What are your needs? What are your dietary restrictions?
Any allergies? Most Importantly, whaddaya like to eat? Come with questions.
- We meet. We can meet at your home if you'd like. Or, if you feel more comfortable, we can meet on neutral ground. I’m
no salesman, and I think you’ll appreciate that. Let’s have coffee at Starbucks. Tea at Whole Foods. Or, in your
living room, I’ll bring all info and we’ll talk about whether or not we want to do business with each other. We’ll
talk about package rates (we can deviate and agree on a prorate, based on your needs), the dynamic of your kitchen environment,
time of arrival, etc…
- We will agree on a time for services. I will do all shopping beforehand and, of course, provide receipts. You’ll
know that the food cost will not exceed 25-35% of the service charge. We’ll discuss your preferences, if any, on where I
will procure your goods. I will show up on time at your home and spend 3-5 hours (depending on your package) preparing
your meals. I will bring all cookware, utensils, etc. You are more than welcome to ask any questions about the dishes I am
preparing as I work.
- I will leave your kitchen cleaner than I found it. With only the smell of your excellent choices to remind you I was there.
Okay, so maybe it was a FOUR part process…
I hope your search for a personal chef goes smoothly. Please feel free to call or email with any additional questions you
may have. I look forward to meeting you soon...
Sincerely,
Chef Frank Miller
